“Ethical Sourcing, Induction and Welcome Protocol” was the title of the Ethical Trade Forums’ online seminar held on Tuesday 14 September, which was attended by more than 60 participants.

Leonie Schmid and Louise Herring, representatives of Food Network for Ethical Trade (FNET), a UK food sector initiative to which they are both linked, gave an interesting talk on the topics of the recruitment process, the induction programme, agency workers, among others, and answered some of the questions raised by the attendees during the session.

They explained the tools developed by FNET and successfully used by UK companies focusing on training, grievance procedure, whistleblowing policy, recruitment rates and employee interviews and surveys.

Just Good Work APP” and “Farm Work Welfare APP” are two applications that also attracted a lot of interest from the assistants.  This has led to the creation of a specific Working Group within the ETF focused on the adaptation of these applications for Spanish agricultural companies. The group is open to new members who can contribute their ideas or knowledge (please contact: montse@conexionsocial.com).

Marta Galdeano, head of the HR Organisation Department of Grupo Empresarial La Caña, SL, was in charge of offering the practical point of view of the company, with the presentation of its Best Practice in which she introduced detailed information on the Welcome Protocol for new recruits, that they develop in the company.
