The Ethical Trade Forums participated as guests on May 19 in the 7th Sectoral Roundtable on Employment and Development, held in Roquetas de Mar (Almería), which was attended by 34 participants.
The Sectoral Roundtable on Employment and Development is a space for coordination and community participation promoted within the framework of the ERACIS+ strategy (Andalusian Regional Strategy for Cohesion and Social Inclusion). Its main objective is to promote routes to employment for people living in disadvantaged areas, promoting networking among different organizations.
Among the participating third-sector organizations are Asociación Innova Almería, Asociación Engloba, Asociación Protegidas, and Asociación Humanitarios Sin Fronteras, all of which are involved in social support, training, and job placement for vulnerable groups.
During the event, different initiatives aimed at improving social and labor inclusion were discussed, such as training in languages, hospitality, and the agricultural sector; food-handling workshops; career guidance to help people find jobs; and support for the process of integrating into companies. The importance of forming partnerships with private companies to facilitate internships and job placements was highlighted. Emphasis was also placed on working with particularly vulnerable groups, such as women and young people, by promoting their participation in training and job placement programs.
The participation of the Ethical Trade Forums in this meeting focuses on opening new channels of communication and collaboration with associations that work directly with groups that could benefit from using App Foros as a tool for support and information of interest to migrant workers.
