The Ethical Trade Forums were invited to participate as presenters on the panel “Synergies with other initiatives” at the workshop of the Collective Action Platform for Water in Doñana-Huelva, held on November 13 at El Rocío.
This meeting brought together representatives of various local and international actors, including producers, irrigation communities, associations, NGOs, knowledge centers, public administrations, and representatives of international markets. The Ethical Trade Forums were represented by Sergio Barberá, secretary general of ETFA.
It was an opportunity to share the progress made during 2024 and 2025, collect contributions, and plan future joint actions to continue building this collective action platform promoted within the framework of the WRAP project, with the shared vision that “the customer is the basin”.
The day began with presentations by the speakers, followed by a brief discussion. After each presentation, three questions common to all initiatives were asked to facilitate reflection and exchange between panelists and attendees:
- What is the added value of the initiative, or what problem or need does it seek to address?
- In the context of the Doñana environment, how does the initiative contribute to improving the health, sustainability, and resilience of this territory?
- How can the initiative generate or strengthen synergies with a multi-stakeholder platform for collective action such as this one? In other words, what opportunities for collaboration or alignment do you identify?
We appreciate the invitation to participate and deeply value this type of initiative, which allows us to stay close to reality and aware of what is happening on the ground.
