Today, leadership and motivational skills in supervisors and middle managers are a topic that frequently comes up when we ask participants in our Forums activities what topics they would be interested in discussing at our events. They usually emphasize the importance they give to training in these positions and the constant concern for establishing trusting relationships with them, keeping motivation high, so that it is then transmitted to their work teams.
In order to address this concern, we thought it would be interesting to re-share with our followers an online seminar conducted by the Ethical Trade Forums in October 2021, entitled “Team management skills for supervisors and conflict resolution. Motivation of work teams”.
The seminar was attended by 86 people and had Rosa Torres as the first presenter (Professor of the Department of Communication and Social Psychology at the University of Alicante), who began with an introduction to the skills of managing complexity, as part of the role of supervisors. Then she explained the importance of capacity, interaction and empathy oriented skills to manage discomfort, to communicate reality, to prevent and manage conflicts and, finally, to motivate.
The topic of motivation gave way to the second part of the session, which was led by Carlos González (Executive Manager and Consultant at Emphatic Warriors), who shared with the attendees a series of questions about the factors of motivation that were answered through an application, and on which the content of his presentation was developed, reaching conclusions about its impact on team management.
